Documentary spotlighting three Southern Black women thriving with HIV arrives theatrically in Atlanta and digitally in the U.S., Canada, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa — “They Live Beyond.”

Ourconic, LLC announced today that its documentary Beyond the Diagnosis will make its world premiere on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Tara Theatre (Screening Room B) in Atlanta, Georgia, as an official selection of the Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF), with distribution partner JaroGO co-hosting the theatrical premiere. Tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite. The same day, the film launches on the JaroGO streaming platform via its Advertising Video on Demand (AVOD) model, reaching audiences across the United States, Canada, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa.

The film is also an Official Selection of the Documentaries Without Borders International Film Festival (Fall 2026), and in August 2026 Ourconic, LLC received the 2026 NOLA SHAAD Community Impact Award — Griot (Storytelling & Heritage) from CrescentCare.

Directed by Meo Kellerman and Rafael Cherry and narrated by producer Santia Bailey, Beyond the Diagnosis tells the stories of three extraordinary women in Mississippi and Louisiana — Dominique Grant, Dr. Joyce Turner-Keller, and Millicent Foster — who are living openly and thriving with HIV in the region hit hardest by the epidemic. More than half of all new HIV diagnoses in the United States occur in the South, and Black women are diagnosed at a rate eleven times higher than white women. The film sets out to change the story too often told about these women: one of shame, silence, and endings that come too soon.

The film grew out of Ourconic’s ongoing work producing Louisiana Can, an HIV awareness campaign with Xavier University of Louisiana CMHDRE. While working on the campaign, the filmmakers saw an opportunity to tell a story outside of it — one that humanizes people living with HIV and centers the lives they have built beyond their diagnosis.

“This story chose us,” said Meo Kellerman and Rafael Cherry, Co-Founders of Ourconic, LLC and the film’s directors. “We were in the middle of the Louisiana Can campaign when we met women whose lives were bigger than any PSA could hold. Dominique, Dr. Joyce, and Millicent decided their diagnosis would not be the last word — our job was to make sure the world could hear them say it.”

The Atlanta premiere will be accompanied by an HIV-awareness panel discussion featuring healthcare advocates and members of the filmmaking team.

The film continues Ourconic’s award-recognized commitment to authentic storytelling, following the narrative feature Dreams in the Spotlight, honored with the Audience Choice Award at PVIFF, and the project Genesis AI, selected for the APHA Public Health Film Festival.
